Harry Oberkfell - Chairman of the Board

Harry Oberkfell spent 32 years as an executive with Warner Lambert. From August 1998 until his retirement in June of 2000, Mr. Oberkfell served as Vice President and Knowledge Management Officer. From 1994 to 1998 he served as President of the company’s Latin American and Asian sectors.

Prior to that, Mr. Oberkfell contributed to the Parke-Davis division of Warner Lambert as President of Parke-Davis North America, Vice President of Marketing and Sales, and several other marketing positions. His past affiliations include the National Pharmaceutical Council Board of Directors, the Advisory Committee for Rutgers University Business School, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Foundation Board of Trustees.

Mr. Oberkfell currently sits on the Board of Afaxys Pharmaceuticals. He also served on the Adams Respiratory Therapeutics, and Avanir, Inc. Boards. He has a BS in Biology from St. Louis University and an MBA from Rutgers University Business School.

 

Wai K. Wong, Ph.D. - President and CEO

Wai Wong has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a primary focus on business development, new product and market development, strategic alliances, and operations and administration.

Dr. Wong’s career began in 1972 as a pharmaceutical industry researcher at the National Bureau of Economics Research and at Wainwright Securities, both in New York, while simultaneously lecturing at CUNY, Columbia University and St. John’s University.

He later held various management positions with Warner Lambert and Parke Davis, directing pricing and prime vendor operations, corporate strategic planning, business development, licensing, product and market opportunity assessment and valuation. During the mid 1990’s, Dr. Wong co-founded several successful consulting, training and communication companies, leveraging web-based learning, product marketing portals and knowledge management systems for the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Wong also co-founded an international consulting practice focusing on business development, M&A, and technology transfer between Asian manufacturing companies and global pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

 

Rocco “Rick” Ricciardi - President, Operations and Managing Partner

Rick Ricciardi has 30 plus years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout his career he has held positions of increasing responsibility in business development, strategic planning, major investments planning, manufacturing management, and engineering. In addition to his association with Global Harvest Pharma, Rick is president of Romar Associates, guiding clients in the planning and implementation of acquisitions and divestitures.

Prior to collaborating with these companies, Mr. Ricciardi spent 21 years with Hoffmann-La Roche Inc., most recently as Vice President, Corporate Strategic Planning and Business Development and Vice President, Engineering and Construction. In the latter position, he directed the acquisition, design, and construction in South Carolina of a green field. This $500 million dollar, multi-purpose development center manufactured active pharmaceutical ingredients. Before joining Roche, Mr. Ricciardi held positions in process development, engineering and manufacturing at Warner Lambert and Dow Chemical. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.

 

William “Bill” Yuen - Vice President, Manufacturing

The majority of Bill Yuen’s career has concentrated on USA-Asian business relationship development. With a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the College of Emporia in Kansas, he began his career by founding Moldieco Inc.

Originally, Moldieco was a distribution company focused on the development of sourcing relationships between commercial product manufacturers and tool and die equipment producers. Within a few years, Moldieco’s business expanded into injection molding and product assembly operations, producing toys, air conditioners, fans, pharmaceutical product package components, and a broad range of household items under exclusive arrangements with major branded product companies. As Moldieco grew, Mr. Yuen branched out globally into other business areas, including the Imperial Trading Company and P&M Inc.

These ventures, formed in the 1970’s, developed and enhanced relationships between Asian and USA companies. Imperial Trading Company traded scrap iron, steel, waste paper and other commercial commodities between the USA and Taiwan, while P&M, representing more than fifteen USA Fortune 500 companies, focused on oil, gas, and mineral drilling and mining services in China.

Highlights of Mr. Yuen’s career include his designation as New Jersey’s “Man of the Year” in 1981 by the Small Business Association, and the completion of a major contract for the US Department of Defense, providing soldier supply kits for the Desert Storm Campaign on a highly accelerated schedule basis.

 

Dronniss Jiang - Senior Project Manager

Dronniss Jiang brings over 16 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry. Throughout his career he has held multiple positions at the management level, and came on board as the Project Manager at Global Harvest Pharma in 2007.Currently, Dronniss is responsible for assisting management in the operational follow up of factory product manufacturing services. His role includes identifying potential suppliers for API and Finished Dosage Forms, as well as implementing, upgrading and supporting manufacturing facility protocols and procedures with suppliers, with a goal of achieving US or other national regulatory approval.

 

Jeanne Wong - Chief Financial Officer

With a B.B.A. in Statistics from Baruch College (CUNY), Jeanne Wong has held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Global Harvest Pharma since its inception in 2001. As CFO, Jeanne manages all financial holdings, while coordinating all affairs within the Board. Prior to her current role, she spent 12 years in the Pension Trust Investment Performance Department of the Chemical Bank in New York.

 

Lijuan Tang, Ph. D. -- Director of Laboratory/Chief Scientific Officer

Lijuan Tang, Ph. D.  has over eighteen years of formulation development experience.  Prior to her joining Global Harvest Labs, Dr. Tang held the position of President of PharmaSci Partners LLC for three years, and has held Sr. Research Scientist positions at Alpharma, Forest Laboratories, and Pfizer.

Dr. Tang participated as invited speakers on topics that include controlled release technologies, dissolution methodologies, and IVIVC.   Further, she has contributed to the achievement of two patents and instrumental in 4 major publications for Pharmaceutical Development and Technology.

Dr. Tang received her M.S. from the Chinese Pharmaceutical University and her Ph.D. from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.  She is an active member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association.
